Off to a good start...
My grand New Years '08 adventure started off with a bang. I arrived at the gate to discover that the flight that was supposed to take me to LA was delayed by "3 hours" from 6:45 to 11:15. Is it any wonder that the good people at American Airlines can't make the plane take off on time, if they are having trouble telling 3 hours from 4 and a half?
It's not all bad though - once they realized that the flight is in fact getting delayed by more than four hours, they decided to give all the passengers food vouchers of $10.00 so they could have dinner. What sort of dinner can you get for ten bucks in a Newark concourse? A package of humus, some apple juice and a stale croissant.
